Florida statute 720 gives the BOD the power to add online voting.
It does not require members to vote by 2/3 (200 votes).
It does not require any special member meeting to vote on.
The BOD can add it to the agenda and vote on it in a regular board meeting.
In the last members meeting, the 2024 BOD unnecessarily motioned to amend the Deed of Restrictions to add Online Voting, a mission impossible since it requires 200 votes.
The established quorum was 247 votes.
150 (61%) voted YES for adding Online Voting, while 97 (39%) voted NO.
I call on the 2025 BOD to include a motion to add online voting to the agenda for their next meeting.
If you agree, please get in touch with the board’s members and help me with this task.

Absolutley! Florida 720 positions “online voting” as a win for all as it promotes fair and transparent dealings by the community. Therefore, there is no requirement that HOA members must vote to adopt. The law authorizes HOA boards to adopt “online voting” as a board resolution provided that certain procedures are followed. There is no prudent reason that this IH Board would not motion to adopt online voting. They need to honor their fiduciary duty to the membership and add this to their agenda and vote in favor.
By taking no action to approve, they are acting in self interest.

Assuming that Florida statute 720 gives the BOD the power to add online voting as communicated. It appears that the majority of the owners are in favor of online voting. We should get this approved by the 2025 BOD. Online voting is convenient for most owners. At the same time, those that choose to vote in person can continue to do so. I don’t see any reason why not to have online voting approved.

We have completely changed our mind on this issue after further research and reflection. We absolutely support ONLINE VOTING. We need to get this approved ASAP by the IH BOD.
