March 10 Ad Hoc Search Committee Zoom Meeting.

I watched the meeting, and seeing what was happening was painful.

I ask from members who watched the Zoom meeting to share their feelings and comments.

I presume Sandra Steinruck, who ran the meeting, is the Committee Chair.
Sandra and others have many questions and sought advice and guidance from Mike Dixon, David Bass, and Joe Coyle.
The three were helpful and knowledgeable, sharing their highly regarded and sought-after experience. Yet, none of them is on the current Search Committee.

My questions are:
1.             Was any of the three, Mike, David, or Joe, asked to be on the 2025 Search Committee?
2.             Why was Sandra appointed to chair this committee when it is clear she is far less suitable for the position than Mike, David, or Joe?

Indian Hammock Members, a lot is happening, and not everything is positive.
Please join in and make your voice heard.

To the members who attended the Zoom meeting, am I missing anything?

David Etzion.

funny, i sent this letter to barbara and sandy this morning before i read your email….see below and feel free to share:

From: Susan Kassing <skassing@comcast.net skassing@comcast.net> > Date: March 12, 2025 at 8:16:03 AM GMT-4 > To: Barbara <broberts@earthlink.net broberts@earthlink.net>, sandy steinruk indian hammock <steinruk@hotmail.com steinruk@hotmail.com> > Subject: Search committee > > Good morning. > > A few nights ago I attended the zoom call with only 3 of the 6 committee members in attendance. Graciously, a number of the members of the previous search committee were on the call and it was quite obvious to me they were quite knowledgeable as they answered many of Sandy and Bob’s questions. It was also obvious to me the new search committee is not quite up to speed in this matter and were not prepared for their meeting. > > I realized that none of the previous search committee members are on this new search committee. And I have to wonder why? It only makes sense, at least to me, that (in Sandy’s words) we don’t need to ‘reinvent the wheel’. Why not let them start where they left off instead of forming a brand new search committee? > > We are in need for a new manager and it just makes sense to let those already versed in this help out on the committee. > > What do you think of this idea? > > > in His service. > > susan kassing > 954-275-4621

I was baffled—how did the “bad boys” suddenly become the only ones with answers, advice, and information? Sandy came to the meeting utterly clueless, armed with nothing but a laundry list of questions to drain their knowledge because she—and a combative, grumpy man—were completely lost.

Even more shocking, almost no one from the committee was present—except Rachel, whose involvement was never even announced. When was this committee formed? When was that meeting posted? This entire committee is a farce, hastily thrown together as a cover to push Matt out and install Carla’s husband as Manager—for financial issues and control.

Unlike the prior board, which was organized, self-sufficient, professional and documented every step, Sandy showed up with a scrap of paper and no solutions. Twenty years in HR? Please.

That so-called “meeting” was a joke—just Sandy exploiting real professionals because she has no clue what she’s doing. But in the end, it doesn’t matter—we all see the real agenda: Carla maneuvering to put her husband in power under her and Barbara’s fist.

I’m not happy that these meeting are being posted at the gate as Jonathan and I are not full time residents and do not drive thru the gate everyday as well as many other members. I did send an email to Barbara with my concerns regarding that. I am not happy with the current board and feel they are way over their head.

    Complete Joke

Sandy has no idea how to conduct a meeting let alone represent Indian Hammock in hiring a Manager. It was clear that the Committee members that did show up had no idea or plan to go about hiring a Manager and could only rely on the members from the past Committee to answer the questions on how, when and where to start. They seem to be hung up on the CAM license that is a 720 requirement (Could be obtained after finding a good candidate) instead on focusing on finding someone with Land Management Skills that could also deal with being Micromanaged by the BOD that have taken over the office. The new BOD is such a train wreck that has caused so much divisiveness to the community let alone will also cost us all in the end with the legal ramifications of their disregard to the 720 HOA rules that they must follow.

Has anyone ever seen such dysfunction, divisiveness, nepotism and narcissistic behavior from a BOD in IH? Not until now and it must stop.

Would they please look themselves in the mirror and see that they are the problem and not doing anything for the good of the community.
